Job Title: Crew Member, part-time, year round

- 15-20 hours per week
- Monday-Friday – flexible days and hours

Job Compensation and Benefits:
- $14/hr
- $20 produce credit per week
- Wage increases with experience and skill
Job Overview and Responsibilities: Honey Tree Farm is a year round, small scale vegetable farm, focusing on market gardening techniques that rely heavily on work ethic, efficiency, aptitude, grit and passion. We are a competitive and constantly evolving business that strives to improve our soil health, plant nutrition, knowledge, intuition, relationships, customer connection, and to grow the best quality produce possible. Key responsibilities are:
- Understand the flow of the farm, stay organized and strive to continually learn
- Starting seeds, bed preparation, harvesting, wash and pack procedure, cultivating, pruning, irrigating and a wide range of farm tasks
- The ability to work on individual and team projects, take instruction, stay focused and on task, and finish tasks quickly and efficiently
- Perform regular and competent usage of machinery, BCS, ATV, gas powered tools, electric tools, hand tools, seeders, mechanical harvesters, etc.
- Attention to detail of crops, infrastructure, equipment, irrigation, processes and people
- Great communication skills with team members, owners and customers
- Positive attitude, caring and cordial personality on-farm and off-farm as a representative
- Pack, organize and deliver orders to food hubs, restaurants, customers or other farm partners
- Being on time for scheduled work hours, deliveries and farmers markets
- Attending a farmers market (switching weekly with other team members)
- Occasional farm-sitting in conjunction with other team members
- Perform tasks for farm enterprises and partnerships
- Understand the seasonal nature of the job in that there is a higher workload in the summer and a lower workload in the winter
- Understand that this job is highly physical and outdoors 100% of the day
Job Qualifications:
- 16 years or older
- Legal work status in the U.S.
- Valid drivers license and insurance with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift totes or coolers 3-5 ft tall and stack or load onto shelves or trailers
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold) with proper attire
- Ability to use both arms, hands and fingers for every activity
- Perform a wide range of typical manual labor associated with farming
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, squat, crawl, bend over or climb ladders
- Handle knives and sharp objects in a way that is safe for yourself and others
- Previous farming or horticulture experience
- Sign written Honey Tree Farm Employee Agreement
